Father Peter Gillquist
Father Peter Gillquist was born on July
13, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has a B.A. in Journalism from
the University of Minnesota and his name is closely related to the
Campus Crusade for Christ, being one of its regional directors between
1960 and 1968. In an attempt to understand what had happened to the
Church that Christ founded, Fr. Gillquist along with
the leaders of Campus Crisade for Christ decided to separate and
research the question separately and then meet again to share their
discoveries. Their research led them to the Holy Orthodox Church. On
February 15, 1987 Father Peter Gillqust along with more than 200 other
former evangelical Protestants joined the ranks of Orthodoxy. Since
1987 he has been an archpriest in the Antiochian Orthodox Christian
Archiocese of North America. He has published several books, including
the famous "Becoming Orthodox - A Journey to the Ancient
Christian Faith". He is married and has six children.
